Case Study: Revolutionizing QSR Order Confirmation Displays

Display Logic collaborated with a prominent company that owns multiple Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) brands to develop high-performance outdoor order confirmation displays for their drive-through Point of Sale.
Objectives:
The customer had specific objectives, including:
- Keeping the compute unit indoors
- Utilizing robust displays suitable for direct sunlight and high ambient temperature conditions
- Implementing a centralized system for monitoring and controlling the displays
- Reducing system installation costs
Achievements:
Display Logic designed and manufactured a 15″ IP67 sealed display unit, optimized for sunlight readability and equipped with a brightness-enhanced LCD capable of operating in extreme temperatures (-30 to 85°C). The display unit featured Display Logic’s proprietary sign management board, which measured ambient sunlight, display brightness, and backlight current, enabling seamless control by the compute unit and facilitating troubleshooting. Display Logic’s innovative LCDbaseT approach, utilizing a power-over-Ethernet (PoE) board and a proprietary PoE injector, enabled the displays to be powered over the Ethernet cable, resulting in significant cost savings of approximately $1,000 per installation.

Results:
